Abstract
When CATIA is used to design contour in terrain, 2D contour obtained by CATIA internal mechanism is formed of a set of line segments rather than a polyline. Therefore, the result is extreme inconvenience to select and edit the object in context design. In order to solve this problem, an improved 2D drafting method of contour is proposed in this article. In this method, a linear linked list is used to store and recombine the original data of contour, and an optimization strategy based on nodes alignment and connection is proposed to deal with data redundancy of the linear linked list. At last, the method is developed by CAA (Component Application Architecture) development tools of CATIA software. And experiment shows that the proposed method can meet the demand of 2D contour drafting in CATIA software.
