Abstract
The present paper investigates experimentally the effect of normal load and sliding speed on volumetric wear property of different combination of phases like martensite ,pearlite and cementite of hypereutectoid steel. Experiments were carried out under normal load 0.125,0.375,0.625 and 0.875 N,sliding speed 212,636,1060 and1484 rpm. Results show that the wear rates increases with the increases of normal load and sliding speed. It is also found that the sliding speed of 3 m/s, volumetric wear rate is minimum and almost constant for all the phases under all operational conditions.
