Abstract
Numerical and experimental studies of few-modes Erbium-doped fibers amplifiers suitable for mode-division multiplexing are presented. Based on simulations, fiber with tailored Erbium spatial distribution has been designed to support and amplify 6 spatial modes. Realizations are presented and discussed.
