Abstract :
The ever more increasing interest and requirement on energy efficient circuits and systems have demanded design techniques from various angles. While supply voltage scaling has been widely accepted as a solution for energy efficiency improvement, the energy efficiency improvement from supply scaling is limited. Therefore, all the design challenges caused by the voltage scaling have to be tackled at all abstraction levels. In this paper, an overview of various state-of-the-art design techniques for energy efficiency improvement is presented.
