Abstract :
This paper focuses on investigating localized Search Space (SS) design in Enhanced Physical Downlink Control Channel (EPDCCH), which is introduced in Long Term Evolution advanced system to meet the requirements of frequency selective scheduling gain and beamforming gain. Since EPDCCH is frequency-division-multiplexed with downlink data channel, blocking probability is a very important issue in addition to resource utilization efficiency. This paper proposes the innovative methods of allowing different localized EPDCCH candidates to distribute to different Physical Resource Block (PRB) pairs, considering the capacity of control channel and the control resource overhead. By simulation results, it is proven that the proposed methods could get lower blocking probability while maintain the same UE complexity in Blind Decoding (BD).
