Abstract
BOM was created to encourage and support reuse, interoperability, composability for distributed simulation system. The BOM standard documentation explains the main conceptual model components: Entity Type, State Machine, Event Type, and Pattern of Interplay. Ontologies are known to promote easy understanding, shared consensus view as well as semantic interoperability. Thus, this paper explores the use of joint mission space entity ontology as a knowledge representation and as a medium for semantic interoperability to BOM, and give the mechanism for modeling joint mission space BOM (JMSBOM) entity.
