Abstract :
The acid-treated powder of sweet potato (AT-SP) was prepared, and characterization of AT-SP was studied through FT-IR, XRD and TG. Preparation of fuel ethanol by adsorption dehydration of ethanol-water azeotrope using AT-SP as adsorbent was studied in self-designed fixed bed. The results showed that AT-SP was a good adsorbent for dehydrating water from the ethanol-water azeotrope, and fuel ethanol was obtained through the method of adsorption dehydration using AT-SP as adsorbent. Based on the characterization of AT-SP and the adsorption dehydration experiment, the process of preparation of fuel ethanol in fixed adsorption bed using AT-SP as adsorbent was put forward in paper.
