Abstract :
Zig-Bee was developed by IEEE 802.15.4 Task Group and Zig-Bee Alliance. It has been specified for higher level communication protocols that use smaller and low-power digital radios based on an IEEE 802 standards for personal area networks. Zig-Bee devices are used for the transmission of data over longer distances. The passage of data occurs through intermediate nodes and this quality allows these networks to become ad-hoc in nature having no centralized control. This article reflects the effect of channel sensing duration on different topologies like star, mesh and tree using OPNET Modeler. The comparison in terms of Data Traffic sent, Data Traffic Received, Mac Delay and Throughput has been considered.
