Abstract :
The paper presents the behavior model of sigma delta modulator implemented in the MATLAB SIMULINK environment. The proposed model takes into account most of the sigma delta modulator non-idealities, such as KT/C noise, and operational amplifier parameters (white noise, finite dc gain, finite bandwidth, slew rate and saturation voltages). Simulation results on a third-order four-bit low pass sigma delta modulator demonstrate the validity of the models proposed. The proposed model attains a good accuracy, while maintaining the fast simulation speed, which greatly improves the design efficiency.
