Abstract :
Routing in Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs) is characterized by the inexistence of the end-to-end path. This feature can be applied in the disaster area where infrastructures are destroyed. Using existing mobile platform such as mobile phone to build an energy aware communication network is an attractive problem. In this paper, a geographical routing protocol called GeoRescue is proposed, enhanced with the prediction based routing and transmission control mechanism. By using a real cartography of Sendai area, GeoRescue increases the delivery rate and decrease the latency compared with two benchmark protocols, and greatly decreases the routing overhead. The hop count of GeoRescue is more approximate to the epidemic routing than the others.
