Abstract :
In this paper, we would like to describe a signal quantizaiton algorithm using the G A (Genetic Algorithm) and Probabilistic method. The quantization are realized by using a nonlinear quantization functions. If we apply a quantization for phisical signal(ex. electrocardiogram), the observation data must be reconstructed as faithfully as possible. It is desirable to be the smallest quantization distortion, so the quantization functions must be designed as an optimal function. We designed it using GA. In the case of encoding or decoding a voice mail, the speech signal is desired to be compressed. The purpose of the paper is to achieve a fast signal compression algorithm that works effectively with the software and that the tone quality and the compression rate are equivalent to a conventional compression such as the CELP(4.8kbp).
