Abstract
A Monolithic power supply which operates over a range of 30-264-V ac has been realized in a 500-V dielectrically isolated process. The circuit uses a GTO SCR current switch together with a series regulator to provide a 5-V dc output. With the addition of a resistor, the output can be adjusted to 24-V. Output power is 250∼mW at 5-V, increasing to 1.2-W at 24-V. The die measures 2.0 × 2.3 sq. mm and is packaged in a 8 lead plastic minidip.
