Abstract :
The spectrum of loads requiring clean uninterruptible power has expanded substantially during recent years. Since a number of these loads are unbalanced and/or non-linear, today´s typical UBS can no longer guarantee clean power for a large portion of loads without additives and/or interfacing techniques. This paper provides a categorization of these loads, presents a thorough analysis of their effects, and surveys present partial solutions. Further, this paper presents a topology of a low impRìanop 3-φ high power inverter stage to substantially alleviate the present difficulties UPS´s are faced with when dealing with the new breed of loads.
