Abstract
A novel switching regulator power supply is de??scribed which uses frequency modulation to accom??plish duty factor control. The circuit resembles a choke-fed dc-dc converter. A distinguishing feature is that the output transformer is designed purposely to saturate. By varying the base drive square wave frequency, the peak value of the secondary voltage can be controlled. Example designs of both high and low voltage power supplies are included. Static and transient responses are shown.
