  • Abstract
    The transient component caused by the Capacitive Voltage Transformer (CVT) in HV and EHV electrical power systems, prolongs the tripping time of the protection relaying systems. The classical filtering doesn´t lead to satisfactory results. In order to improve the performances of the protection relaying systems, it turns out that the modified inversion technique applied in signal filtering lead to better responses. A digital power simulator as well as the analogue one, including both the CVT, for testing the high voltage numerical distance protections have been used.
