Abstract :
The paper presents a method for the design of a control system for the angle of attack of a fighter based on a model-matching technique. The H∞ problem to which the model-matching problem reduces has been solved by using an optimal approach described in Appendix. The paper includes a comparison of different performances of the control system obtained by using this optimal method with the ones given by the suboptimal H∞ design, showing that the optimal approach offers considerable advantages.
