Abstract :
This paper solves the H2 and H problems for sampled-data systems when the sampling and/or hold functions may be available for design. It is shown that the optimal sampler and hold have a natural interpretation in terms of the continuous-time optimal performance, and attempt to recover the behavior of the continuous-time controller. All the calculations involved can be carried out using recent results in sampled-data theory.
