Abstract :
A miniaturized CPW-fed dodecagram fractal antenna is designed for multiband applications having multiple resonant frequencies. The antenna is designed by a combination of two geometries, do-decagram and a circle within. This is resulted in improved radiation pattern, a good gain and higher efficiency with multiple resonances in useful frequency bands. The use of defected ground structure (DGS) and slot in the feed enhanced the antenna parameters further. The simulated results are good agreement with the standard conventional antennas. The simulation was done using IE3D Mentor Graphics with Method of Moments (MoM) based tool. The antenna is useful for space communication applications.
