Abstract :
This paper proposes a Cognitive Radio system where primary users cooperate with the secondary users by performing the task of data transmission and channel monitoring simultaneously, using the proposed receiver and frame structures. The proposed system works beyond the sensing-throughput tradeoff, overcomes the hidden terminal problem of the secondary users and increases awareness of the primary users against the interferences that can harm their performance, hence facilitates them with the improved quality of service. More specifically, we maximize the Achievable throughput of the cognitive radio system under the average transmit and the interference power as constraints. The proposed system exploits the advantages of the sensing based spectrum sharing scheme, so overcomes the serious problem of the frequent channel-handoff.
