Abstract :
In this paper, novel inverters based on the extended Z-source inverter introduced in literature are presented. The extended Z-source inverter is divided into two groups: the diode assisted extended boost continuous current QZSI and the diode assisted extended discontinuous QZSI. In order to increase the voltage transfer gain in both cases, the number of capacitors, inductors and diodes should be increased that raise the cost and volume of the inverter. In this paper, a coupled inductor is added to both types of extended boost Z-source inverter in order to decrease the number of the elements. In addition similar to Γ - Z -inverter, the voltage transfer gain of the proposed inverters is raised by lowering the transformer turns ratio. Therefore, low transformer turns ratio is required to obtain high voltage transformer gain. The performance of the proposed inverter is verified with simulations.
