  • Abstract
    This paper presents a novel switching pattern for single to three-phase cycloconverter used in the secondary of Inductive Power Transfer (IPT) system. The main goal of this switching strategy is to reduce the switching loss of cycloconverter to lower than one third in comparison with the conventional PWM strategy. Some advantages of this proposed switching loss reduction strategy are: the simplicity of implementation and improving the efficiency of the cycloconverter and so, the total system. It is confirmed by simulation analysis that the proposed switching pattern has lower switching loss, as compared to the conventional modulations scheme like PWM strategy.
