Modularity in design: A review

Now days the modularity as a design strategy has received renowned interest. The term modularity is often used to describe phenomena that are similar yet slightly different for different products and in different industries. The product architecture, product platform, product development process and integrality are different aspects where modularity plays vital role under investigation in the industrials and research world. This paper reviews the concept of modularity used in the literature representing different thought world in design system.
