Abstract :
This paper presents Joint Blind Equalization technique for high order Quadrature Amplitude Modulations. The algorithm is based on the Multi-Modulus and Shell Partitioned Multi-Modulus, which makes it capable to eliminate a residual phase error. The orthogonalization procedure is performed to improve the convergence speed. Mean Squared Error (MSE) adaptive estimation techniques are considered and the Edge MSE procedure is presented. The soft switching algorithm, based on the Edge MSE estimation, is described and applied to the equalizer. Simulation results of the proposed joint blind equalizer algorithm for 256 and 1024 QAM, based on the lattice filter producing an orthonormal basis and a tapped-delay filter (employing input vector-samples as a basis), are presented and compared.
