Abstract :
To enhance the quality of classroom education, a project is devised for engineering students who regularly take the optimal control course in our department. The aim of the project is to enable the students to apply the techniques covered in the course experimentally in a lab environment. This paper presents the details of a specific project concerning a nonlinear optimal regulation design for the unstable inverted pendulum on a cart mechanism.
