Abstract :
This paper describes the analysis of tension dynamics of steel strip in hot finish rolling and presents new equations with the effects of inter-stand strip bending affected by bending stiffness, weight and velocity of the strip. The above effects, not considered in existing tension models, are shown not to be negligible. The obtained equations can be used to improve the accuracy in the analysis, simulation, and control of strip tension.
