Abstract :
The paper deals with the prospect of using fuzzy logic based controller for the control of frequency of isolated hydro power systems. The comparison, of the systems with a conventional and a fuzzy controller was performed by analyzing the simulation results on a suitable mathematical model. It is shown that fuzzy logic based controller can improve the control of frequency of an isolated hydro power systems. The cases in which the fuzzy logic approach gives better quality performance of the system than the conventional approach are considered. The method for the estimation of the stability of the system with the SISO fuzzy controller is shown.
