Abstract :
Advanced fault detection and diagnosis system for a process equipment can yield economical benefits by minimizing downtime and service costs. Using models and heuristic knowledge fault diagnosis can advance beyond the conventional level of detecting faults after they occur. This paper presents an advanced fault diagnosis system designed for the variable volume pressure filter. The utilization of the system minimizes the downtime by giving the operators and maintenance personnel additional information about the fault cases and the fault history of the filter.
