Abstract :
The aim of this paper is the formulation of a non-linear predictive control strategy for multivariable electroheating processes, which have been modelled by introduced multi-input multi-output Hammerstein model. The effectiveness of the formulated control algorithm has been verified on the basis of some simulation experiments carried out on electric resistance furnaces, the time characteristics of which have been delivered by the manufacturer according to recommendations of the International Union of Electroheat. The proposed predictive control algorithm shows its good properties, and may be found useful in temperature control, yielding high control accuracy at different set point values.
