Abstract :
Plastic extrusion is a well-established method widely used in the polymer processing industry. Extruder typically is composed a large barrel divided into several temperature zone. The control system of extruders are designed by PID control theory. This method deals with independently the barrel which constructs a cylinder. For this reason, this temperature control system sets up the thermal interference between barrels. Then, we tried an improvement of the control system using μ-synthesis theory, H∞ control theory, decoupled control theory, and disturbance observer.
