Abstract
Parity space and parameter identification based techniques have been first compared in the monovariable case [Delm1], [Delm2]. In [Gert2], these results have been extended considering MIMO systems in ARMA form. To overcome the drawback resulting from parameters redundancy, we propose to express the linear observable MIMO model into one of its canonical forms [Guid], which provides a framework for the comparison of the two residual generation methods.
