Abstract :
Preliminary results for off-line identification of three phase induction motors using real data are presented. The model being used is based on circuit equivalent equations in the stationary reference frame fixed to the stator and allows the use of linear identification algorithms. Both step input and amplitude modulated signals are employed in order to run the motors. The latter of the two proves to be more successful for the estimation purposes due to its richer frequency content. The parameters estimated in this manner are used to construct the performance curves which are compared with similar curves obtained from dynamometer tests. In general, the differences between the two sets of curves are less than fifteen percent which mainly arise from modelling errors.
