Abstract :
In this paper, the method adopted to build a phoneme-based Text-to-Speech synthesizer using principles of unit selection technique for Hindi is presented. The system consists of a text analyzer capable to separate phoneme from input text, a vocal database with recorded phonemes, a unit matching module and a synthesizer. Vocal database was generated through an automated speech segmentation based on Hidden Markov Model (HMM). The system is implemented on window platform on visual basic (C++). The Graphic User Interface of the developed TTS has been implemented successfully.
