Abstract :
When some wireless networks are formed only for a particular purpose, they are the Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs). They do not depend on any access point for communication; they self-organize, and change topology dynamically. A routing protocol is necessary to help a node discover the routes to other nodes of the network and enable its communication with them. Each routing protocol tends to find the best possible route between every pair of a source-receiver. Since MANETs have dynamic configurations, routing in them is not easy. Quite a many route selection algorithms have been therefore defined for MANETs. In this paper, we try to observe how Multicast Ad-hoc on-demand Distance Vector (MAODV) [2] routing protocol works and analyze its performance via packet delivery ratio, and End to End delay metrics. The performance analysis has been conducted by employing simulation tool ns-2 [6].
