Abstract :
MEASUR´s Semantic Analysis is a method for requirements analysis and representation. Semantic Analysis appears to have a number of benefits to information systems development. Among its main strengths is that it produces stable software design that is easy to be expended to accommodate future changes. However, it is not widely used, mainly because of its complexity. It is hard for analysts to follow the steps which sometimes are not clear and may lead two analysts to produce a significantly different ontology chart diagram for the same problem statement. There are not silver bullets for dealing with this problem but a more clear understanding of the steps of semantic analysis could aim towards this direction. This paper introduces a Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN2) model that describes the process of conducting semantic analysis. Given that BPMN2 is the standard notation for business process modelling, it is the believe of the authors that a BPMN2 model for Semantic Analysis will make the use of the method more clear and easier to follow.
