Abstract :
This paper investigates the effect of bending-twisting coupling in monoclinic laminates upon the sequence of static and dynamic failure of a composite rectangular wing in the flow of incompressible gas. The paper shows that natural frequencies, critical flutter and divergence speeds of wing can be managed through non-classic effects arising in anisotropic structures. For certain layups, self-excited vibrations might arise at the speeds near the lower boundary of the flutter inception.
