Abstract :
This paper shows the first direct comparisons between magnetic particle imaging (MPI) and other standard preclinical imaging modalities (computerised tomography, optical imaging, magnetic resonance imaging) for image contrast and depth attenuation. Compared to optical imaging and MRI, MPI signals are not affected by tissue surrounding the probe, making MPI potentially a more quantitative and robust molecular imaging technique.
