Abstract :
For successful communication of Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) of the IEEE 802.15.6 using Impulse Radio Ultra Wideband (IR-UWB), it is important to properly evaluate the performance in different circumstances. In this paper, we investigate the performance of IR-UWB communications in the presence of multiuser interference. Focusing specifically on energy detector (ED) receiver with on-off keying (OOK) and pulse position modulation (PPM), this study aims at evaluation of the multiuser interference tolerance of the ED receiver which generally trades off performance to implementation simplicity. The IR-UWB PHY simulation set up is based on the IEEE 802.15.6 definitions. The simulation results show the interference vulnerability of ED receivers.
