Abstract :
In this paper, we develop an efficient and stable connection scheme for the non-standard finite-difference time-domain (NS-FDTD) method to expand its applicability in three dimensional (3D) problems. Based on a straightforward formulation, the novel technique achieves an optimal transition among the FDTD and NS-FDTD algorithms by means of a simple and instructive interlayer region.
