Abstract :
In this paper, we present a compact dual-band antenna for wireless local area network (WLAN) applications. The dual-band characteristic is realized by using a meander line and a lateral L-shaped patch. The proposed antenna with a small size of 15mm×9 mm and a 50-Ohm mini-coaxial line feed structure is composed of a meander line and a lateral L-shaped patch. The experimental results show that the proposed antenna can provide two resonance frequencies with a -10 dB bandwidth of 2.28-2.55 GHz and 5.04-6.0 GHz, which aim to cover both the 2.4-2.483 GHz and 5.15-5.825 GHz WLAN bands. Also, the proposed antenna has tunable dual-band characteristics and good omnidirectional radiation patterns, which is suitable for integrating into the WLAN applications.
