Abstract :
The high penetration rates of Photovoltaic (PV) systems may impact power quality of the utility grids in some cases. Therefore, a detailed technical study about their effects on the power quality of the utility grid is required. Such study requires a complete modeling of the Grid tied PV system. For this purpose (PSCAD) software was used. This model consists of PV array, DC link capacitor, DC-DC converter, three phase six-pulse inverter, transformer and a utility grid. This paper investigates the cascaded control of grid-tied PV inverter. Cascade controllers scheme is used and to fine tune these PI controllers, Taguchi Approach is used. Simulation results indicates the capability of the PV system to ride through the faults determined by low voltage ride through (LVRT) under various symmetrical faults.
