Abstract :
This paper proposes gunshot noise detection method using Zero Phase Technique. Gunshot noise detection is required in a wide area of surveillance, security and defense (military applications). Recently, Gunshot and impulsive sound detection has relied on methods from the area of speech processing. Unfortunately, intensive computations is required in order to detect gunshot under noisy environment for those methods. In this work, we proposed a simple gunshot detection procedure based the signal in ZP domain (ZP signal) which is obtained by taking IDFT of the path power of a spectral amplitude. Since the energy concentration of gunshot signal is widely distributed on the time axis in ZP domain. On the other hand, the energy of wideband noise ZP signal is concentrated around the origin in ZP domain. Thus we can detect gunshot noise, because the energy concentration would stand out over other noise through the observation segments. Simulation result has proved its efficiency as a gunshot detection algorithm even in a noisy environment.
