Abstract
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/IEEE standards for high-voltage circuit breakers have undergone changes in recent years to harmonize with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards. Examples of such harmonization are the peak ratings, transient recovery voltage (TRV) profiles, classifications, and voltage range factor. This article compares these changes with the existing prevalent standards and practices and their impact on the applications and analyses.
