Abstract
In this paper, intercarrier interference (ICI) self-cancellation technique in time domain is presented using receiver windowing technique to convert time selective fading channels that are rapidly time varying channels into almost time invariant channels, this is done by considering the nonlinear time variant channel impulse response that is more accurate than linear time variant (LTV) model. The proposed technique achieves an appreciable improvement in carrier -to- interference power ratio (CIR), and hence better improvement in bit error rate (BER) performance. The theoretical CIR calculation and BER performance using the proposed receiver window shape are investigated and validated by MATLAB simulation results. These results prove that the BER using the proposed technique approaches that of ICI free in OFDM system even at high normalized Doppler shift much greater than 20%.
