Abstract
In India, total capacity of wind power is high approximately 102,788 MW. Towards wind power, this paper describes a complete description of permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) based wind energy system. Many new contributions for new efficient converter have been designed to improve the efficiency, reliability and cost of the wind energy plant system. In fact, different power electronic converter is connected between generator and the load/ grid. It has been described based on its working operation such as harmonic compensation, efficient working, and high power rating conversion. Due to variation in wind, the wind generation system is still a challenge to extract smooth power. To improve the power quality of the system such as islanding problem and power variation is solved by different renewable and storage systems. Finally, it is also reviewed of the different controller and need of Energy storage system which is used to fulfill the load or grid requirement.
