➢ Tremendous growth of the air-transportation industry forecasts: • Double the air-transport capacity by 2025 • Traffic of 22 million flights per year • Average of 72000 commercial flights and 480000 general aviation flights on a peak day ➢ Each day, 8.3 million people around the globe — roughly the population of New York City — step aboard an airplane. ➢ Airport Council International (ACI) estimates the number of global air-passengers to be nearly 12 billion by 2031.
