Abstract :
16, 64QAM, and higher-modulation formats impose strict linearity requirements on the modulator-driver response. We experimentally demonstrate the relation between transmitter nonlinearity and OSNR penalty. Simulations confirm experimental data for a wide range of harmonic distortion.
