Abstract
We review advance of pure-silica-core fiber with ultra-low loss of 0.15dB/km and large Aeff of 130μm2. This fiber is applicable for C+L-band broadband transmission in submarine ultra-long links, exhibiting sufficiently low macro- and micro-bending losses.
