  • Abstract
We review the applications of fiber nonlinearity compensation (NLC) in homogeneous and heterogeneous networks, (non)dispersion-managed links, and terabit transmission systems. Practically viable intra-channel NLC is shown to allow ~3.7dB gains, well beyond conventionally acknowledged bounds.
