Abstract :
A 125-μm-cladding 8-core fiber applicable to short-reach transmissions and compatible with conventional components is proposed. An ultra-high-density 12-MCF cable was fabricated with the proposed MCF, and error-free 8-SDM×4-WDM×25-Gb/s (800-Gb/s/fiber) transmission was demonstrated in O-band.
