Abstract
This paper presents a new low-voltage low-power CMOS temperature sensor, targeting long-life autonomous portable applications. The frequency-output sensor includes a novel VDD-compensation strategy, achieving supply voltage independence. Results for a 0.18 μm CMOS implementation show a linear response over a wide range of (-40, +120 oC), with a sensitivity of 546 Hz/oC and a power consumption of 2 μW at 1 V single supply.
